Hi Everyone,
“It’s me Remy, the new Tripawd! I am starting to feel more like myself again. I do like to nap, a lot, but if there is food around, I’m up and hopping over to it. Heck, I am a Lab! I go outside again in the yard by myself and have jumped up to my favorite spot on the couch. Still sporting these staple and stitches, but only a few more days mommer’s says. Speaking of mummer’s, she worries a lot. Always doting on me, giving me the yummy pill pockets. She thinks I don’t know that there are pills in there, but I am pretty smart. She stays home with me everyday! Geez, what’s a guy to do? But she loves me and I love her. It’s all good.”
Mummer’s here. Yes, I am doting on him and yet trying to let him do as much as he can. We are only 10 days post-surgery and I’ve already called a canine physical therapist to see what they suggest for keeping him strong and active. Any advice on that and a harness would be so welcome. It is his left front leg that was amputated, but Remy also has some arthritis in his back hip/legs so I do worry about it.
Did anyone change their dog’s diet after the cancer diagnosis? I’m trying to read everything but there is so much to get through. We are doing the cool laser treatments a few times each week at our Vet’s office.
So if anyone reading this can provide some advice, I would truly appreciate it.
Thanks,
Mommers (Lynn)
